Retrofitting the bearing houses led to the optimization of hygiene and safety while also reducing maintenance.
The current solution created the following challenges: The bearing houses are open, which allows chocolate to enter the bearings, and more time is needed for cleaning and removing any leftover food residues from the bearings before lubrication. Furthermore, each bearing must be lubricated with food-approved grease by qualified personnel following official greasing instructions.
The new solution resulted in the following advantages: After testing NGI’s hygienic bearing houses for almost two months in our production, we concluded that they were the perfect solution as they require zero maintenance. The bearings are lubrication-free, resulting in significant resource savings. Additionally, the retrofit of the bearing houses provides a significant improvement in hygienic design, which enhances safety in the production process.
