The Challenge
The bearings are fitted in turning wheels located at each end of a feezing tunnel (-37oC) to guide the hundreds of meters of chain slowly transporting the products in a bottom-to-top spiral route. Moist is accumulated when cleaning with hot water and the moist is sucked into the bearing houses. Therefore, the lubricant tends to be contaminated with water jeopardizing the functionality of the bearing as wear is increased dramatically.
The Solution
Due to the favorable material properties of a hybrid Ceramic Speed bearing - which bearing houses from NGI can be fitted with - this problem will damage a hybrid bearing far less compared to standard steel bearings.
In addition, the IP69-K-certified bearing houses from NGI have a unique, patented sealing system that is waterproof at more than 3o misalignment minimizing the risk of moisture entering into the bearing house in the first place.
The Effect
Preimier Is tested the hybrid bearings from Ceramic Speed - which bearing houses from NGI can be fitted with - and achieved 4 times (or even longer) bearing life while reducing downtime and operational costs.
